| Amsterdam - Goodies |

Nothing
to write home about. Their idea of coffee was milk in a glass. No hit
of caffeine for me. So with the initial disappointment of landing in
what looked like Bayswater in London, my heart sank when I realised on
the first day that there may be a chance that for five days I'd have to
go cold turkey and drink water.
Well all I can say is thank goodness for Maps, and thank sweet baby
Jesus for producing the straight lady herself Aaston. With those two
things packed away [every dyke should have a fold up Aaston] it was
soon realised that Amsterdam wasn't quite what we first thought. With
the lingering smell of Skunk up our noses, we walked for a while to
find the Jordaan area. Suddenly our spirit rose and we felt the warmth
of a beautiful city. You know I'm talking coffee here don't you?
Demands made to have a large glass were met with a big smile and chatter.
Having found my caffeine hit, I even tried their iced tea inbetween coffee
breaks. The prices were defiantly London
prices, but well worth the trek and the experience. The whole street was filled
with delightful shops and galleries, with a sprinkling of bars and a Friday
morning flea market not far away. I was in heaven I tell you – heaven.
Although
Goodies is on the small side, the times we chose to go and eat or drink there
was plenty of room to manouver. Chatty, friendly customers sit on wooden
benches sipping fruity drinks or gnashing on delicious food. You really have to
pay this place a visit if you go to Amsterdam
. I know I’ll be going back quite soon!
